Nymi Band Unit Test

Article summary

Use this application in order to test whether your Nymi band has been set up correctly and is functioning as desired.

Purpose

The integration between Tulip and Nymi provides a secure and efficient way to meet compliance requirements for e-signatures in manufacturing systems. Tulip’s apps simplify complex manufacturing processes. Nymi fortifies the authentication layer so that operators can enjoy password-less, contact-less, and hands-free workflows - even through PPE. Together, Tulip and Nymi support security and compliance throughout your manufacturing ecosystem.

Setup

Before attempting integration between Nymi products and your Tulip Instance, ensure:

  1. SAML SSO has been configured for your Tulip Instance. For more information about this visit this Knowledgebase Article.
  2. You have sufficient permissions to add & manage authentication methods in your Organization's Identity Provider. For more information about this check out this Article.
  3. Your Organization's Identity Provider is compatible with FIDO2 authentication devices & methods.
  4. You have sufficient permissions to edit Tulip Apps.

How it works

This app provides context on the overall Nymi authentication process as well as some simple unit tests.

This app has everything you need to get started with Nymi & Tulip!

Note that Nymi acts as a replacement to username and password in SAML SSO, therefore this must already be configured with your Tulip Instance to enable Nymi-based authentication.
The Nymi Band can be used to complete authentication challenges requested by an Identity Provider (IDP). SAML-enabled IDPs can then be used as a Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication method in Tulip.

To confirm your Nymi band is set up successfully with your IDP and Tulip, use the E-Signature Widget under the DEMO step in the application.
Once the signature is complete, you should see the confirmation below the widget.
The Nymi band is configured to each unique individual. Complete the app to restart this step and try giving your configured Nymi band to someone else and see if the signature still works.
