    Introducing Automations Beta in Tulip

With R264, we have begun the rollout of Automations Beta. All customers will gain access to the new feature over the coming weeks.

With Automations, you can streamline workflows and processes in Tulip like never before. A new visual logic builder lets you trigger actions based on events to design complex workflows to manipulate tables, send alerts, and respond to machine downtime faster. Automations empower you to take control of your operations and help you get more done with less.

New AI Feature in Frontline Copilot™ Beta

We have introduced a new Speech-to-Text widget to the group of AI-powered tools in Tulip, Frontline Copilot™. This widget can be added to apps to generate real-time transcriptions of spoken audio into text inputs in Tulip. The Speech-to-Text widget can be used to input longer form text in environments where it may not be practical to use a keyboard.

Results from the Speech to Text widget can be stored in a variable and combined with AI Trigger Actions to let end users chat with documents without a keyboard.

    UI Update to Vision

We have flipped opacity of the vision camera configuration view so that outside of the area of interest is shaded and only the detected region is "highlighted".

Vision is still a beta feature in Tulip. See disclaimer below.

    Note

Use of Beta Versions offered by Tulip is optional and is at your sole risk. Due to the untested/unproven nature of Beta versions, they are provided “as is,” “as available,” and without warranty. This means that any warranties, indemnities and other obligations of Tulip under any terms of service or MSA do not apply to Beta Versions.

    Improvements to the Apps Page

    App Overview Page

In response to user feedback, we have made the Recents page the default view for the Apps Page.

We’ve also improved loading animation for various tables (most notably the apps table). In addition, users have the additional options of 4:3 and 3:4 as their app resolution.

    App Folders

We have added the ability to favorite folders on the Apps page. This allows you to quickly navigate to your desired apps and keep your apps organized under the Favorites view. Favorite a folder via the dropdown or the folder preview tab.

We have also lifted the limit of the app folders you can create from the root folder. However, the maximum of 50 subfolders within a single app folder still applies.

    Unique Naming for Widgets

When multiple Widgets of the same type are created, they will receive a unique name, e.g. "Button", "Button 1", "Button 2", to reduce confusion when editing an app. This update is respected for all supported languages. With this change, signature widgets are no longer forced to have unique names, even though this is still encouraged. Custom names can be assigned to widgets via the right sidebar of the App Editor.

    Update to Connectors

When manual publishing for Connector snapshots is enabled, you now have the option to apply new configurations to connectors used in published apps.

    Security Updates

A security vulnerability which exposed the private key of a certificate used for Tulip SSO integrations has been patched and exposed certificates have been automatically replaced as a precaution.

When a user attempts to log into the Tulip Player with an incorrect badge ID, the error displayed has been changed to "No operator found with this badge ID" instead of displaying the ID number.

    Bug Fix Highlights

Release 264 contains multiple bug fixes that we want to highlight because they were reported by users:

    • Fixed an issue that caused certain triggers to time-out
    • Added a security measure that restricts the accessible IP address range of the HTTP connector to non-local IP addresses when run by the Multi-Tennant Connector Host
    • Fixed a bug where any aggregation or grouping above the index of 9 would not be processed correctly
    • Fixed a security vulnerability that exposed the private key of the certificate used for SAML authentication to clients who were logged-in to Factory
    • Fixed an issue that prevented upload of STL files in tables
    • Fixed an issue where old servers were unable to connect to connector host
    • Fixed a bug causing incorrect offline state reporting of OPC-UA connectors
