The First Pass Yield application enables users to track the number of good units produced without any need for rework, and acts as a good indicator of quality. The First Pass Yield percentage is calculated by counting the number of units that pass successfully on the first attempt, divided by the total number of units that enter the system. This application also tracks the percentage of units that pass the quality test after undergoing any rework.
This application is for you if you are looking to:
Gauge the quality of raw materials coming in
Gauge the number of units produced that never require any rework
Identify the percentage of units that pass the quality test after undergoing rework
Video Overview of Application
This application can be downloaded from https://tulip.co/library/apps/first-pass-yield/. Once this application is downloaded, it is good to go. Simply enter a serial number to either create or load a unit with that serial number, and then select whether to pass or fail that unit.
Can I initially fail a unit, and pass it in a second quality check?
Yes, you can have a unit initially fail a quality check, and then after undergoing rework, pass the quality check on a future attempt. The Percentage Rework analysis keeps track of the percentage of units that pass a future quality test that failed their initial quality test.
How is Percentage Rework calculated?
Percentage Rework is calculated as the number of units that pass on a future quality check after failing the initial quality check. What this means is that if a unit initially fails a quality check, and then after undergoing rework, passes the quality check, it will count as a successful rework unit.
