Deploying Tulip in AWS GovCloud

Article Summary

Purpose

Many of Tulip's US customers have strict requirements about information security that extend beyond the guarantees provided by a general cloud Tulip account.

For these customers, we offer an AWS GovCloud deployment option.

This deployment option falls between the general cloud Tulip deployment and an on-premise Tulip deployment. The Tulip GovCloud deployment option allows Tulip to manage, monitor, and scale your resources as needed just like in a general cloud deployment, but with the added assurances of the AWS GovCloud infrastructure certifications.

In their words:

AWS GovCloud (US) are isolated AWS Regions designed to allow U.S. government agencies and customers to move sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing their specific regulatory and compliance requirements, including Federal Risk and Management Program (FedRAMP) High Department of Defense Security Requirements Guide (DoD SRG) Impact Level 5, and Criminal Justice Services (CJIS). The AWS GovCloud (US) adheres to U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. (AWS GovCloud (US) User Guide)

In this deployment mechanism, AWS takes responsibility for the certification of the infrastructure upon which the Tulip Platform runs. Tulip still takes responsibility for the treatment of your information and security within the Tulip Platform and, as the customer, you still take responsibility for using best practices when interacting with the Tulip Platform and managing devices that may be connected such as computers and tablets.

If you have questions about a GovCloud Tulip account, please reach out to your Tulip sales representative or email sales@tulip.co.
