Each app completion in Tulip captures data about a part of your production floor.

Some of the data is automatically stored by Tulip, but app-specific data needs to be defined by means of variables. Once you've run your app a few times, how do you make sense of all the information?

A simple way to calculate KPIs such as Units Produced Today is using a Single Number analysis. Here's how to make one.

You can use a Single Number Analysis to show the count of completions under certain parameters.

1- After selecting "Add Analysis" under the Analytics tab in the App Summary View, select "Single Number":

2- If you click on the template It will automatically populate the following.

This analysis now displays the Count of Completions for this app.

3- From here, you can modify your analysis to show today's data by clicking on "Date Range" at the bottom left and choose "Today" from the dropdown list.

Your Context Pane should look like the following:

4- You can also choose a variable to track your production counts based on an operator pressing a button in your app or based on a sensor interaction which saves it to a variable.

To do this, you need to click on "Number" in the Context Pane, then click the "Change" button on the top right and choose the corresponding variable. In this case, the app variable for production count is "production_count".

5- By default, it auto populates as the average value of that variable. You can change that by clicking on "Average" and selecting "Sum" as follows.

6- Remember to press "Save & Close" before exiting the analysis!

Want to see breakdown of Units Produced for the Week?

Click on the 'Single Number' option in the Toolbar. The menu should open, with all analysis template options. Now select 'One Operation' and change your X and Y axis to be the appropriate values.

Make sure to change your "Filter" field to limit to the past 7 days, and the x axis should segment data by date. Here's what that might look like:
