Here's a 2-minute overview of Tulip:
Are you frustrated by all the paper on your shop floor? Are you looking for a better way to capture data from both humans and machines throughout the day?
Tulip allows process engineers and shop floor leaders to create manufacturing apps. These manufacturing apps do not require any coding, and can be deployed across multiple use cases, such as work instructions, quality reporting and employee training.
Normally, an app covers all the work that is completed at a single workstation on the floor.
There are two main interfaces required to build a manufacturing app:
- Tulip: The interface used in Google Chrome where Tulip apps and analytics are created and edited.
- Tulip Player: The interface where individuals can test and run the Tulip apps built on the Tulip App Builder.
Here's an example of a manufacturing engineer using Tulip to deploy three different apps to three separate computers running the Tulip Player:
Tulip apps are designed using Tulip. Once an app is built, you can run it using the Tulip Player.

As a Tulip administrator, you will log into your Tulip account at your_account.tulip.co
You will receive an email with the account name after signing up. This will allow you to:
- Create and modify your manufacturing apps,
- Build analyses and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards
- Manage the displays and IoT devices on your shop floor.
Tulip consists of three parts:
1 - Manufacturing App Builder: This is a cloud-based visual environment where you can build manufacturing apps without writing a single line of code.
2 - Analytics Builder: This enables you to access and analyze data collected from both operators as well as sensors from the production floor. Here you can harness the power of real-time continuous improvement.
3 - Shop Floor IoT: Tulip’s IoT Gateways allow you to easily connect your machines, sensors and smart tools to unlock their potential. Connect the devices you need to get the job done in a plug & play manner.
