Workspaces are essential for organizing operations by site, departmental data management, and validation purposes, such as testing, training, and staging sites. We recommend customers in **regulated industries** create separate Instances for development, quality assurance, and production. | Control | Plan (starts at) | When to use | | --- | --- | --- | | Approval types | Enterprise | Often used in regulated industries, to ensure the approval of new apps by multiple parties before they can be deployed on a production floor. | | Date and time (Time Zone only) | Enterprise | Change the time zone. *Date format settings are found in the Account Settings | | Device uptime | Enterprise | Select between two dates to view device uptime | | Schedules and shifts | Enterprise | Modify apps based on the current shift on the production floor; run analytics to compare data across shifts. | | Service Accounts | Enterprise | When working with the Table API | | Users | Enterprise | Add and edit Users and Custom User Fields | | Workspaces | Enterprise | Create new or view existing workspaces and set default owners of apps. | ## Limits | | Limit | | --- | --- | | **Workspaces per instance** | Maximum 15 workspaces (Configurable) | #### Further reading - [What are Workspaces?](/r230/docs/what-are-workspaces-1) - [Workspace Configurations and Settings](/r230/docs/workspace-configurations-and-settings) - [How to Add Shifts and Schedules To Your Tulip Account](/r230/docs/how-to-add-shifts-and-schedules-to-your-tulip-account) - [An Overview of the Enterprise App Exchange](/r230/docs/an-overview-of-the-enterprise-app-exchange) **Workspace** **Workspaces** are a model within Tulip to separate Tulip assets to match the places where work is being done. A workspace should represent a single facility, line, or department. With workspaces, users across facilities can easily collaborate, share their solutions, and improve their global operations. **Tulip Instance** A Tulip customer account. Your instance can be found at https://[your-instance].tulip.co When *your instance* is referenced, we are just talking about your Tulip account on an organization-level, not user-level.
