Additionally, OS 55 contains critical security and stability fixes, so we strongly encourage all Edge Device users to upgrade to this latest release. Details [managing your Edge Device firmware](/r230/docs/how-to-manage-gateways-within-tulip) or [enabling autoupdates](/r230/docs/how-to-manage-edge-device-auto-updates) can be found in the Tulip Knowledge Base. ## Machine Kits Quick Configuration Tulip was excited to announce the recent launch of the [Machine Kit](https://tulip.co/platform/machine-kit/). The Machine Kit is a great tool for converting a legacy piece of equipment into a smart machine that can report information to Tulip regarding it’s state. With OS55, both Edge IO and Edge MC can be configured to work as a Machine Kit. This will allow you to automatically deploy the pre-built NodeRed flow, setup a new machine type, create machine tiggers, and installer the Machine Monitoring Terminal Library App. You can access the quick configuration menu from the Edge Device UI. ![ezgif-5-032046d4ac.gif](https://cdn.document360.io/7c6ff534-cad3-4fc8-9583-912c4016362f/Images/Documentation/ezgif-5-032046d4ac.gif) ## Player on Edge IO Improvements We have updated the Edge IO Player to version 2.4. Please stay posted for the Player 2.4 release announcement. Users can now specify the screen resolution of the display they have connected when running Player on Edge IO. This can be configured via a dropdown menu in the Edge Device UI. ![ezgif-2-1daef0a5e5.gif](https://cdn.document360.io/7c6ff534-cad3-4fc8-9583-912c4016362f/Images/Documentation/ezgif-2-1daef0a5e5.gif) ## Improved MQTT Support The local broker now supports AMQP, MQTT, and zbus. This is particularly impactful for customer building NodeRed flows on their Edge Devices. The Edge Device is now capable of receiving MQTT messages and routing them to the NodeRed flow. ## Security Updates At Tulip, we take security very seriously. We are constantly monitoring for potential security vulnerabilities and implementing patches and fixed. OS55 includes several important security updates to help protect our users from potential threats. ## General Improvements and Bug Fixes - Add error about not using the same 10.0.5.0/24 subnet when set in upstream. - Edge Device portal shows validation error on WiFi password even if password is 8 chars long - Resolved bug that prevented Edge Devices from disconnecting from WiFi when user pressed “Disconnect” button in UI - Added driver support for Ohaus Scale PX 4201/E - Resolved issue that resulted in Edge IO occasionally failing to boot ## Full List of Ticket ID included in OS 55 If you encounter any difficulties during the update process, our customer support team is ready to assist you.
