Read-Only Connector Functions

Article Summary

Read-Only Connector Functions

Learn how Connector Functions are versioned and interact with published applications.

Tulip now offers a configuration that controls how Connectors work with published versions of apps.

Once this configuration has been enabled, every time an app is published, a snapshot of the connector is tied to that version of the published app. There will now be a read-only connector tied to each Published Version.

The versions tab will now show a resources column which lists the connectors used in that specific app version. Clicking on the connectors under the resources column, will take the user to the read-only connector function being used by that app version.

Example -

  • App 1 is using connector function 1
  • App 1 is published
  • Connector function 1 is changed
  • App 1 remains unaffected since App 1 is tied to the snapshot of Connector Function when published

Connector Settings

When enabled, a new option appears under the Account Settings page: Connectors.

This page allows for control over how changes to connector environments should impact published applications. This includes changes to connector host, host address, port, authentication, and other configuration parameters.

  1. Publish automatically, including for apps published to the shop floor

    1. Any changes or updates to the connector configuration are immediately propagated to all published apps using this connectors.

  2. Require manual publishing (Default option)

    1. Any changes require apps to be re-published to inherit the updated connector configuration.

If you do not have the ability to use Connector Function versions on your instance, please reach out to support@tulip.co to have this enabled.
