Article summary

How Player Logout Behavior Impacts Apps

General Behavior - Any operator logout (either automatic or manual) will cause an app trigger cancellation. Currently, app cancellation will not save any app data - read more about app cancellation here.

Specific Logout Behavior

If GxP mode is enabled (a set of features for Regulated accounts), any operator logout will cause an app to be canceled.

If GxP mode isn't enabled, operator logout will not cause app cancellation.

If automatic logout is enabled, read more here, automatic logout will cause operator logout.

What happens if I leave Tulip Player running without automatic logout?

Tulip Player will continue to run as long as the device doesn’t go to sleep.

What if my Tulip Player goes to sleep?

  • In general, if put to sleep, the app resumes from where it was left off when the device wakes up again.
  • In the case of iPhone and iPad, minimizing the player app or switching to another app is equivalent to closing the player app. Triggers and such do not execute when the player app is not in the foreground.
  • On Android, the Tulip Player app continues to run even when not in the foreground but the Android OS could arbitrarily kill or suspend the app based on available memory, battery use, etc.
