Learn about the Tableting App Group, how to utilize the app group's functionalities, and how different apps within the group connect. The article also includes essential configuration steps necessary for the usage of apps, alongside options for customization.

This app group is a part of Tulip’s Composable MES for Pharma app suite.

Physical space

Within this app group, we introduce users to a tableting process. This takes place in the tableting room, where the user would find the tableting machine, deduster, and the detector.

Tulip Tables in the app

The primary table used by this application is the Batch table. Other tables include Comments & Exceptions, Corrections, Containers, Materials, Rooms , Equipment & Assets, and Scales. These tables are designed to track different artifacts used during the tableting of a batch.

The Sample table and the Inspection Result table are used to create samples and sample procedures.

The tables that route between each app in this group are the Stations and Process Flow tables.

Tableting Process Application

image

The Tableting Process Application provides an example of a tableting process. First, the operator must Select a batch. After selecting a batch, the user can proceed to the Preparation steps, which includes production area check, environment check, machine identification, and blend identification.

If everything is as expected during the preparation phase, the operator can proceed to the Settings steps. Here, the user must first execute all the setup instructions, which are followed by an at-line sampling. If there were no issues during the at-line sampling, the user can continue with an off-line sampling. The off-line sampling ends once all the sample procedure results associated with that batch are back. If any issues arise during setup, the user must navigate back to the settings section and adjust the machine.

During the Continuous Monitoring, the operator can execute at-line sampling, off-line sampling, and replace the bag as needed.

When the operator has finished with the tableting, they can start the finishing stage by clicking on the Finish Tableting button. During this phase, the operator logs the used blending material, prints a label, and removes the bag. The tableting process is completed after an offline sampling.

Tableting Template

The Tableting Template is a generalized, customizable version of the Tableting Process App. The template has the same structure as the Tableting Process App: Select Batch, Preparation, Setting, Continuous Monitoring, and Finish Tableting. The app contains directions on steps to configure certain components for specific processes.

Tableting Weight Check

image

This application is a simple application to check if the produced number of the tablets is within the acceptable range, which is present in static text in the App. The app requires a scale integration to get the gross weight of the batch.
First, the operator calculates the weights of the intermediate containers and bags in which the tablets are stored. Based on the provided container number, the operator measures the weight of the containers with the tablets in them. The app then calculates the gross weight by the sum of both measurements.

Next, the app calculates the net weight of the tablets by deducting the weights of the previously calculated empty containers and bags. The app also calculates the net weight of the waste.

Lastly, based on the net weight of the tablets, the net weight of the waste, and the average weight of a tablet (calculated based on the IPC results), the app calculates the total number of tablets produced and the total yield.

Configuration and Customization

The apps in this app group have necessary configurations in order to deploy them into your system of apps. There are also options for customizing app components to your specific needs.

Sampling & IPC app group

The Tableting app group has multiple points of integration with the Sampling and IPC app group. During the Tableting setting phase, there is a condition that requires waiting for the IPC results before the operator can proceed. Also, during the tableting process, there are multiple instances when the operator creates offline samples.

Furthermore, during the Weight check, one of the elements of the calculation (average weight of a tablet) is determined based on IPC results.
