# Digital Caliper driver

*Understand the capabilities and configuration associated with the Digital Caliper driver in Tulip.*


## Capabilities


The Digital Caliper driver allows Tulip Apps to connect to many common Digital Caliper tools and receive measurements.

This driver is available for both the Windows-based {{glossary.Tulip Player}} and the Tulip IoT Gateway.



### Events


The driver emits a single event: a "length" event that includes the data measured by the device.
