# Add an operator's RFID card using an RFID reader

## How to Add a New Operator's RFID card using an RFID Reader

*Learn how to add RFID numbers in the Tulip interface.*

If you don't know the badge number on the RFID card, you can add it by plugging the [RFID reader](/r230/docs/list-of-plug-and-play-devices-that-work-with-tulip) to your computer after creating the operator in Tulip.

This is done in a few simple steps:

1. Plug the **RFID reader into the USB port** on your computer
2. Within your Tulip account (*https://your_account.tulip.co*), navigate to **Settings** > **Users**
3. Select the “Create User” button to create a new user

1. Click within the **Badge ID field and scan the card**.
2. Save the information that you’ve just entered by selecting “Make User”/“Save Changes”, whichever applies.
